Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actor. Doody made her acting debut in a Bond film called A View to a Kill in 1985. She starred in 1989 as an archaeologist with Nazi sympathies Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan Donavan played the role in A Prayer for the Dying in 1987, Charlotte was in Taffin (in the year 1988) and Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody started modeling after being invited by a professional photographer. It led to an enviable modeling career in the commercial world. Doody stringently avoided glamour and sexually explicit work. This was a policy she extended to her acting profession. She was cast in a minor role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill when she was noticed by the casting director. Doody appeared on John Willis Screen World Volume 2, as one 12 promising actors to be cast in 1986. 38. Doody was just 18 at the time of her debut in the Bond character. Today, she is the youngest Bond girl. A different early film was a small part in the role of IRA Siobhan Doovan, a member of the IRA in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody played an unseen role as the wife of Archibald Craven Lilias as she appeared in his dream, 1987's adaptation of The Secret Garden. Her first lead role was in a 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. Her first appearance was in the film Taffin opposite Pierce Brosnan. Next, she portrayed the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian Nazi-sympathizer and archaeologist opposite Harrison Ford. Doody is a member of the James Bond family, having acted along with Sean Connery and Jonathan Pryce in the film Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. In the year 1991, Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publication fraud, also known as the Hitler Diaries. Doody then relocated to Hollywood. Chosen to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal she went on to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his agent and girlfriend. Doody came back to acting in 2003 with a minor part on The Actors, a British comedy film The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at the awards ceremony. In 2004, Doody was in the film alongside Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody was as a character in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody appeared as a character in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. In the following year, she was a guest on RTE's Medical thriller The Clinic. She was also set to play the lead role in an adaptation in 2011 of the horror classic The Asphyx. However, this project fell through. Her first two seasons on The E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. She received the Almeria tierra de cinema award on 21 November 2018.
