Bernadette Peters

 

Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American actor and singer. In a span of more than six decades, she's starred in musical theatre, television and film, performed in her own concerts, and released recordings. She is a critically acclaimed Broadway performerwho has received seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award), and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, receiving three. Four of her Broadway productions in which she has performed have been awarded Grammy Awards.



 



 Many believe Peters to be the greatest Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is most well-known for her performances on Broadway, such as in Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
